Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Gateway Sound & Events website and booking services. By making a booking, you agree to these terms.

Booking & Deposit

  • A 50% deposit is required after Gateway confirms availability and sends your contract
  • The remaining balance is due 3 days before your event
  • Your date is NOT held until Gateway receives both the signed contract and deposit
  • Bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis

Cancellation Policy

  • 60+ days notice: Full deposit refund
  • 16-60 days notice: 50% of deposit returned
  • Under 16 days notice: Deposit is non-refundable, but credited toward a rescheduled event within 12 months
  • Client no-shows: Full payment forfeited

To cancel, you must notify us in writing via email at team@gateway2africa.us. Cancellation date is the date of your written notification.

Event Changes

Date changes are subject to availability. If we can accommodate your new date, your deposit may be applied to the new event date within 12 months. Changes requested inside 16 days may incur additional coordination or rescheduling fees.

Force Majeure

If an event cannot proceed due to severe weather, government restrictions, venue closure, or other events outside either party's control, Gateway will apply the deposit as a credit toward a rescheduled event within 12 months.

Performance & Liability

  • Gateway Sound & Events will arrive at your venue for setup 1โ€“2 hours before start time
  • We carry commercial general liability insurance
  • We are not responsible for venue-related issues (power failures, venue cancellations, etc.)
  • In the rare event we cannot fulfill a confirmed booking due to unforeseen circumstances, we will provide a full refund or help find a qualified replacement

Equipment

  • All equipment is professionally maintained and tested before each event
  • For equipment rental packages (no operator), client is responsible for any damage beyond normal wear
  • Client must ensure adequate power supply (at least one 20-amp circuit) at the venue

Music & Content

We operate under a DJ performance license. All music is licensed for public performance. We reserve the right to decline requests for content that is inappropriate or harmful in a public/professional setting.

Photos & Testimonials

We may photograph or record our setup and performance for marketing purposes. Client faces will not be used without explicit written consent. If you prefer we do not photograph your event, please notify us at booking.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Any disputes shall be resolved in Frederick County, MD.
